SES Hospedajes: what it is, how to register and send reports (2026 guide)
SES Hospedajes (officially written SES.HOSPEDAJES) is the online platform of the Spanish Ministry of the Interior through which tourist accommodations in Spain report their guests’ details, the so-called parte de viajeros (traveler report). It has been mandatory since 2 December 2024 for hotels, campsites, rural houses and holiday rentals throughout Spain except Catalonia and the Basque Country, and reports must be sent within 24 hours of the guest’s arrival.
In this guide we explain what SES Hospedajes is, who has to use it, how to register, which codes you need, the three ways to send reports and what to do when the platform has problems.
What SES Hospedajes is
SES Hospedajes is the system that implements Royal Decree 933/2021, which requires accommodation businesses to record and report their travelers’ details. It is run by the Secretary of State for Security of the Ministry of the Interior and is accessed from its e-government site.
Before SES Hospedajes, reports were sent to the Guardia Civil or the National Police through separate systems. SES Hospedajes merged them into a single platform and expanded the data to be reported. If you have seen “SES Hospederías”, that refers to the old system; we explain the difference in SES Hospederías vs SES Hospedajes.
| Aspect | SES Hospedajes |
|---|---|
| Body | Ministry of the Interior |
| Regulation | Royal Decree 933/2021 |
| Mandatory since | 2 December 2024 |
| Scope | All of Spain except Catalonia and the Basque Country |
| Reporting deadline | 24 hours from the guest's arrival |
| Cost | Free |

Who has to use SES Hospedajes
Any individual or company that provides accommodation in exchange for payment in any region other than Catalonia and the Basque Country:
- Hotels, hostels, guesthouses and aparthotels.
- Holiday rentals and tourist apartments, even when managed by a private owner.
- Rural houses, hostels and campsites.
- Seasonal rentals and rooms for travelers.
In Catalonia reports go to the Mossos d’Esquadra and in the Basque Country to the Ertzaintza, each with its own system. The underlying obligations (data, deadline and retention) are the same.
How to register with SES Hospedajes
Registration is done once per owner, and each establishment is then added. The full process, with screenshots, is in our guide how to register with SES Hospedajes. In summary:
- Go to the Ministry of the Interior’s e-government site and open the SES.HOSPEDAJES procedure.
- Identify yourself with one of the methods the site accepts (for example a digital certificate or Cl@ve).
- Register as a landlord: owner details (individual or company), contact details and type of activity.
- Add each establishment: address, type of accommodation, number of rooms and, if it has one, the regional tourism registration number.
- Save your credentials and codes for landlord and establishment: you will need them to send reports and to connect any software.
If you manage several properties, they can all hang from the same landlord as separate establishments. We explain it in check-in for multiple properties.
SES Hospedajes codes: landlord, establishment and WS user
After registration, SES Hospedajes assigns you several identifiers. They are often confused:
| Code | What it is for | Where to find it |
|---|---|---|
| Landlord code | Identifies the owner who sends the reports. | How to get the landlord and establishment code |
| Establishment code | Identifies each specific property. There is one per property. | Same guide |
| Login username and password | Logging in to the platform to send and view reports. | Generated at registration |
| Web service user (ending in "WS") | Connecting software that sends reports automatically. | How to get the WS user |
How to send reports in SES Hospedajes
SES Hospedajes accepts three ways of reporting data. All have the same legal value; the difference is how much time they take.
1. Web form (manual)
You log in to the platform and fill in, guest by guest, the personal, stay and payment details. It is the natural option if you receive few guests, but it requires having all the data at hand and someone available to send it within 24 hours, including weekends and holidays.
2. File upload
Lets you upload several reports at once in a file using the format defined by the Ministry. It is mostly used by establishments that generate that file from their property management system (PMS).
3. Web service (automatic)
Authorised software sends the reports directly to SES Hospedajes using your WS user, without you having to log in to the platform. This is what Registro Parte Viajeros does: the guest completes their online check-in, scans their document and signs from their phone, and the report is sent automatically with its receipt.
| Web form | File | Web service | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Who enters the data | You, by hand | Your PMS | The guest during online check-in |
| Effort per guest | High | Medium | None |
| Risk of sending late | High | Medium | Low |
| Best for | Very few guests | Hotels with a compatible PMS | Any accommodation |
If you already work with a PMS or booking platforms, you can connect Registro Parte Viajeros to your current workflow: see our integrations.
What data SES Hospedajes requires
The data is set by Royal Decree 933/2021 and grouped into three blocks:
- Traveler: first name and surnames, sex, document type and number, support number (Spanish DNI and NIE), nationality, date of birth, usual address, phone, email and, if minors are travelling, their relationship with the adult.
- Stay: contract reference, check-in and check-out dates and times, number of travelers and property details.
- Payment: payment type, identification of the payment method and its holder, and payment date.
You will find each field in detail in what data the traveler report includes.
Deadlines and fines
Reports must be sent within 24 hours of the guest’s arrival, and records are kept for 3 years. Non-compliance is penalised under Organic Law 4/2015 on Public Safety:
| Offence | Examples | Fine |
|---|---|---|
| Minor | Occasional delays, incomplete data or errors | €100 – €600 |
| Serious | Not sending reports, not keeping or not retaining the register | €601 – €30,000 |

SES Hospedajes not working: common problems
- The platform does not load or gives an error when sending: this is usually temporary. Save the data and try again; if the problem persists, see the solutions in SES Hospedajes not working.
- I don’t remember my credentials: you can recover them from the platform itself; we explain how in the registration guide.
- I don’t have the user ending in “WS”: it is needed to connect software. See how to get the WS user.
- The DNI support number gives an error: it is a different code from the DNI number; check they have not been swapped.
- I made a mistake in a report already sent: SES Hospedajes lets you modify or cancel reports; fix it as soon as possible.
