What is reporting to the authorities?

Every tourist accommodation in Spain must report its bookings and its guests' details to the authorities. Under Royal Decree 933/2021, the booking must be reported as soon as it is made and the guest registration within 24 hours of the guest's arrival.

The booking is reported. The traveler report, containing the data of every guest, is submitted on the check-in day. Completing or signing the form before arrival prepares the report for that day.

How it works

From guest registration to submitted report

Set it up once and every booking follows the same path to the authorities.

Step 1 · Connection

Connect your property to the relevant authority

Add your SES Hospedajes, Mossos d'Esquadra, Ertzaintza or Galicia credentials and your establishment code in the dashboard. You only do it once per property.

  • A different authority per property if needed
  • Credentials stored securely
  • We help you with the setup
Step 2 · Bookings

Your bookings arrive on their own

Sync Booking.com, Airbnb, Vrbo or your PMS and every new booking appears in the dashboard ready for registration. Registro Parte Viajeros also reports the booking to the authorities as soon as it is made.

  • Sync with channels and PMS
  • Check-in link for every booking
  • Booking reported as soon as it is made
Step 3 · Registration

The guest completes and signs their registration

Each guest fills in their details on their phone, scans their ID and signs. If you prefer, you can register them at the property with in-person check-in.

  • Form in the guest's language
  • Automatic ID document reading
  • Digital signature from each guest
Step 4 · Submission

Traveler report on check-in day

The booking is reported. The traveler report, containing the data of every guest, is submitted on the check-in day. Completing or signing the form before arrival prepares the report for that day.

  • Only the minimum mandatory data is requested
  • Automatic submission to the right authority
  • Real-time status of every report
Step 5 · Receipt and records

Receipts, registration book and 3-year retention

Every submission is stored with its receipt in the dashboard. Download the registration book whenever you need it and keep reports for the 3 years required by law.

  • Receipt for every submission
  • Registration book as a PDF
  • 3-year retention
What the law says

The traveler report (parte de viajeros) is the mandatory submission of every guest's details by any tourist accommodation in Spain: hotels, hostels, campsites, rural houses and vacation rentals.

It is governed by Royal Decree 933/2021 and, since 2 December 2024, is sent through SES Hospedajes (Ministry of the Interior), except in Catalonia (Mossos d'Esquadra) and the Basque Country (Ertzaintza). Registro Parte Viajeros collects guest data online and submits it for you.

FAQ

Still have questions?

Answers to the most common questions about reporting guests to the Spanish authorities.

Contact us
Which authorities are reports sent to?
To SES Hospedajes (Ministry of the Interior) and regional bodies: Mossos d'Esquadra in Catalonia, Ertzaintza in the Basque Country in Galicia. Each property is reported to the authority that applies to it.
What is the deadline to submit a report?
Royal Decree 933/2021 requires bookings or contracts and their cancellations to be reported immediately and, in all cases, within 24 hours. The start of the stay must also be reported immediately and within 24 hours at most. The platform reports the booking. The traveler report is submitted on check-in day; filling in or signing the form before arrival does not bring that submission forward.
What is the difference between a booking and a guest registration?
The booking is reported. The traveler report, containing the data of every guest, is submitted on the check-in day. Completing or signing the form before arrival prepares the report for that day.
What if I have properties in several regions?
Each property is set up with its own authority, so every report is sent to the one that applies: SES Hospedajes, Mossos d'Esquadra, Ertzaintza.
Do I need to log into the SES Hospedajes website?
Only to get your credentials and register your establishment. From then on, submissions are made from Registro Parte Viajeros.
Can I switch off automatic reporting?
Yes. You can switch it off, for example if you only use the app for contracts. In that case, you will need to report guests through the channel that applies to your activity.
