The traveler registration is a legal obligation arising from Real Decreto 933/2021 for all establishments offering accommodation in Catalonia, whether they are hotels, tourist apartments, rural houses, or tourist-use homes. This registration must be carried out through the official platform of the Mossos d’Esquadra, and its main objective is to guarantee citizen security and facilitate the work of the authorities in case of emergency or investigation.
Registering guests not only complies with a regulatory requirement but also contributes to crime prevention and controlling the flow of people staying in the territory. Thanks to this information, security forces can respond more quickly to potential incidents and improve coordination between public administrations.

Information to be provided to the Mossos d’Esquadra
According to the obligations of the Royal Decree, the following information about the travelers must be provided to the Mossos:
- First and last name.
- Sex and date of birth.
- Nationality.
- Type and number of identification document.
- Support number of the DNI/NIE, when applicable.
- Check-in and check-out date.
- Phone number and email address of each of the guests.
- Relationship or connection, if there are minors or multiple travelers in the same reservation.
- Payment data and reservation reference, the payment method must be recorded and a reference generated to locate the reservation. From Traveler Registration, we automatically generate a reference for reservations.
What is the deadline for sending traveler registration information to the Mossos?
- The Generalitat regulations indicate that the information must be communicated within 24 hours after the start of the accommodation of each person.
- This includes both entries and bookings and cancellations, which must also be recorded within approximately 24 hours.
In addition, you must retain the information for a period of 3 years, in case the authorities require the information.
This obligation for Catalonia to send traveler information replaces the obligation to send it through the Ministry of the Interior’s SES HOSPEDAJES platform.
Registration on the Mossos d’Esquadra platform
First, we must register in the Generalitat application to be able to obtain the input data of the platform, for this, we will enter the platform and select the “Alta de Establecimiento” option, we will fill out the PI-15 form and submit it completed and signed at the following link, having filled out this form, the Administration will resolve and give us a user and a password, which will be linked to the codes of our establishments.
